It is correct that the old 1.2 tsi with chaindrive could make noise when started, and actually was a very unreliable engine due to the chaindrive. The newer totally redesigned 1.2 tsi comes with cambelt, and does not make any noise. It is, as other has stated, a very reliable engine with a minimum of problems, and it has no noise issues at all. .
